Switched at Birth??!?

I was watching the new tv show Switched at Birth. I noticed that Bay is quite egotistical (selfish). I understand that she feels like an outsider; however she put herself in that position she is the one that started questioning and asked her parents to check about the paternity. Daphne is more of the victim because she is sweet/innocent and she is constantly trying to be nice. Anyone else watch this show and think Bay is just harsh and very mean sometimes?
